What changes the price of your trek

Four things: the size of your group, your dates, whether you travel privately or join a group, and how many days you take. If you are working to a budget, tell us the figure and we will plan around it.

Days
A typical plan runs 10 days from Kathmandu and back, and published plans run from 8 to 14, depending on where the walk starts. Our 2023 notes were for 12 days.
Getting to the trailhead
Kathmandu to Pokhara by air (about 25 to 30 minutes) or by road (about 7 to 8 hours, roughly 200 km). Pokhara to Nayapul by road is about 1.5 to 2 hours; jeeps continue to Ghandruk (about 3 hours from Pokhara).
A licensed guide
Nepal’s rules require a licensed guide on this trek, booked through a registered agency, so the guide is part of any price.
Travelling from India
Citizens of SAARC countries pay less for the permits: NPR 2,000 for both, against NPR 5,000 for other foreign visitors.
