Is this trip right for you?

Challenging, non-technical high-altitude trek: mostly 4 to 7 hours a day on trails and stretches of dirt road, with one long, cold pre-dawn crossing of a 5,416 m pass. No climbing equipment is needed in normal conditions, but snow can make the pass hazardous. Good fitness and gradual acclimatisation are needed; walking anticlockwise gives the safer height gain.
